Jim Collins wrote that "Good is the enemy of great," noting that success often breeds complacency, which corrodes an organization's competitive advantage.
I'm not as tactful as Jim Collins. I think most organizations face two serious impediments to greatness: 1) middle management liars, and 2) executives that love to be lied to. The second group creates and nurtures the first.
